Bottle Sterilisers
There are four ways mothers can do to make sure that their babies bottles are safe and free from harmful bacteria and germs. All bottles and teats should be placed in warm water first to soften the milk residues and begin the sterilisation process by killing the susceptible germs. The milk residues can be washed and taken out by using the bottle and teat brush. Mothers may opt to boil these bottles and teats in water for at least ten minutes. Boiling is the most inexpensive method and it is also effective. It will last up to three hours. However, they are harmful to the teats and will eventually cause them to disintigrate faster.
Mothers may also opt for cold water sterilisation in which the bottles will be placed in a solution. This is also inexpensive, and the bottles and teats will not disintegrate fast. The effect of this method is up to 24 hours. However, the solution leaves a not-so-pleasant taste and smell. Steam sterilisation may also be done with electric steam sterilisers which do the job in less than ten minutes. They are less economical however and not recommended for traveling. Microwave steam sterilisation may also work. It is is inexpensive, simple, and can be done anywhere. However, bottles may become very hot.
