Frequently Asked Questions
Until what age would I be needing a high chair?
You will not need a high chair until the child is 4 or 5 months old,
but some are made that can accommodate even newborns since the seat
is made to recline. Your pediatrician should be consulted to determine
when it is appropriate to begin feeding solid food to the child.
How will I clean my high chair fabric?
Buy powdered denture cleaner at the pharmacy. Make a diluted paste from
the denture cleaner and water. Wipe the paste over the stain and let
it stand for an hour. Wipe clean.
What are the ideal ergonomic adjustments for my high chair?
The following are the ideal adjustments: Seat depth is set so the safety
guard fits snuggly against the child’s body to provide both support
and safety. Seat height is adjusted so the child’s arms are bent
at a 90-degree angle to the table. Footrest height is set so the child’s
knees are bent at a 90-degree angle.
What will cause the seat pad on my high chair to wear so fast?
The seat pad on your high chair will wear quickly if you slide your
child into the seat without first removing the tray, if you let your
child climb into the high chair by himself, or if you clean the high
chair with anything other than a warm, soapy cloth.
What is the weight limit on my high chair?
The weight limit of most high chair is 40 pounds, some up to 250 lbs.
When will my child be able to sit without a safety guard?
The signs that your child may be ready to sit without the child safety
guard include:
• Able to sit in a chair without assistance.
• Shows interest in climbing into the chair.
• Tries to climb out of their high chair.
