Baby Gift Registry
Many stores now have baby gift registries, where expectant parents
can register and make a list of what they need for their new baby. Creating
their own customized baby gift registries is an exciting event for many
soon-to-be mothers. Most commonly, women register in their fifth or
sixth month of pregnancy, but some choose to wait until a bit closer
to their due date, or until right before their baby shower.
Gift registries are basically an expectant mother’ wish list,
where they can register for anything and everything their heart desires.
Using baby registries is a perfect way for friends and family to get
expectant parents just what they want and need for their new little
one. If it’s their first baby, they’ll need pretty much
everything. Moms-to-be can register for gifts to stock the nursery like
furniture and baby bedding, for adorable baby clothes and for baby essentials,
like diapers and bottles. Necessities to luxuries, about anything that
will make an expectant mother and her baby’s lives easier can
be registered-for.
Another benefit of a gift registry is that it’s easier to find
something in your price range, if you are trying to find a gift for
the mom-to-be. If the mom-to-be is having a baby shower, most likely
the name of the store where they are registered will be included in
the invitation. If it’s not, you can always ask the hostess of
the shower whether or not the mom-to-be is registered somewhere.
Many moms are involved in many different circles, where they have more
than just one baby shower; they have one at work, one with friends,
one with family - so it's important not to duplicate gifts. No one has
time to exchange things. If you purchase an item from the registry,
you know for sure that the expectant mom won’t be receiving two
of the exact same item.
Most retailers also offer their baby registries online, as do a multitude
of Internet-only sites. Online registries are increasingly popular,
and with good reason. By definition, registries are designed to make
the gift-buying process easier on your guests, and shopping online enhances
the convenience. But, even though well over half of new and expectant
moms have Internet access, a large number still choose to register directly
from stores.
